McGill Residences (1981)
Architects: Siddall Dennis
Warner
The three multi-storey
residence buildings for students are all of wood frame construction,
with exterior finish in stucco and cedar siding. That these building
have assumed the nondescript form of commercial condominia reveals a
shift of the University to market methods of construction finance in
their revenue operations. The residences were financed with the assistance
of the Federal Government through the Central Mortgage and Housing Corporation.
