Ballantyne's Florists (1954)
900 Douglas Street, Victoria
Architect: John Di Castri
Possibly now threatened
by its comparatively low-density, these shopfronts deserve preservation.
The angular entrance bays and complex geometry of the constructivist
canopies are illustrative of the sophisticated abstract designs with
which Di Castri broke Victoria tradition of Romantic Historicism.
