The walk-up apartment with its multi-storey gallaried street front, first floor slighly below grade (to get the extra density) and cantilevered over the rear open parking, was a popular two or three lot residential design solution as the old large houses gave way to gradual densification of Victoria Downtown edge to the 50s and 60s.
