Paul Tellier hails from North Vancouver and has been pursuing a career in fine woodworking for the past 25 years. His formal training includes a four-year apprenticeship in cabinetmaking and industrial woodworking completed in Ontario.
The two pieces selected for this exhibit are quite different in style and form.
Paul says he is interested in Arts and Crafts style, especially the work of Mackintosh, Limbert and Wright. He prefers handwork and searches out unique pieces of wood or veneer to use in his pieces.
Some unique features of his work are the use of exposed joinery and free-flowing curves to show the characteristics of the wood used. His studio is located at 704 Copping Street in North Vancouver.
