Claude Maurice
Maurice
completed a University of Manitoba B. Arch in 1962 with a thesis on
the redevelopment of Bastion Square. He practised for three years in
Charlottetown, PEI, then in Vancouver. His Victoria office was established
in 1971. In 1990 he received a Hallmark Society Award for the restoration
of 1525 Amelia, Saanich, in 1983 a Canadian Housing Design Council Award
for the Malleson Residence, Saanich, and in 1982 a Heritage Canada Honour
Award for his Capital Iron project. Other projects include three branches
for the Canadian Imperial Bank of Commerce; the Lawn Bowling Clubhouse,
Victoria West; Monterey Mews, Oak Bay. He has served on the Victoria
Advisory Planning Commision and the Advisory Design Panels in Comox,
Nanaimo, Sidney and Victoria.
