Saunders Building (1974)
Architects: Peterson & Lester
The Saunders Building
consists of a one-storey shop and storage building for the campus planning
and maintenance departments. The wood-frame design is minimalist and
contemporary but the use of cedar and native planting provides an indigenous
West Coast connection. In 1979 Peterson and Lester followed the same
design formula in plans provided for a second set of nearby utility
buildings to temporarily house the Visual Arts Department.
