Windhurst for the
Brown Family (1954)
3045 Beach Drive,
Oak Bay
Architects: Polson
and Siddall
The
expressive functionalism of post-and-beam construction is revealed both
in form and materials; the main body of the house is slightly raised
to accomodate the large rock outcrop on which it is built. The forward
open car-port has been filled in but the 1950s garden has been sensivitely
cultivated and envelopes the house on this large set-back site.
