His mastery of artistic techniques, dedication as a teacher and commitment to furthering the quality of the visual arts has won acclaim from other artists, students, critics and art collectors. Born in Aalborg, Denmark, in 1934, Jorgensen immigrated to Canada in 1956. His works are held in the public collections of galleries across Canada and he has held local, national and international solo and group exhibitions at the Art Gallery of Greater Victoria and the Fran Willis Gallery in Victoria as well as galleries in Vancouver, Edmonton, Toronto, Winnipeg, Ottawa, Montreal, Copenhagen, Switzerland, France and England. Jorgensen is a co-founder of the Metchosin International Summer School of the Arts, where he served as director from 1984-1996.

This serigraph is based on an original photograph taken in 1965 by Karl Spreitz, and features a number of artists who were part of the Limners art group.
