This project, which began in ealry 2002, will enable access to and research of photographic collections from Upper St'at'imc peoples and places. The primary source collections are at the Royal BC Museum, the British Columbia Archives and the Lillooet Museum. From the research, the Upper St'at'imc Language, Culture and Education Society will produce a web site and a scholarly paper to be co-authored by Marilyn Napoleon and Dr. Andrea Walsh on the historical and contemporary significance of the photographs in the two provincial collections.

The web site content will be modeled after the UBC Museum of Anthropology's concept of "sourcebooks" and will contain the visual history as well as contemporary photographs of Upper St'at'imc peoples and places. The collaborative paper will examine how the photographs are used in contemporary efforts to promote cultural continuity.
