Karen Trickett graduated in 1989 from the Fine Furniture program at Camosun College. She has since been self-employed and has her own workshop.

Karen constucts custom furniture pieces designed to fit particular needs of clients, using natural referents and materials to blend in the design and complement the piece.

"My work is usually very clean and uncomplicated with a fine eye for detail that shows in the final results. My furniture is well built, functional and very sturdy. These cabinets ["Inlaid Bedside Tables"] are designed as companion pieces to accompany a bed that I built last year. I have continued my exploration on in marquetry techniques, blending exotic woods to create a picture."

Karen also enjoys restoring and refinishing vintage wooden automotive trim. She is currently restoring and refinishing the interior of a 1952 Jaguar XK 120.
