Robin Shackleton has spent the past ten years honing his woodworking skills and currently runs his own business, Sylvan Temple Drums in Errington, BC. He is particularly interested in design innovation and “acoustic intensity combined with graceful form.” He cites his interest in forest stewardship as the catalyst that “intensified his love for trees” and his interest in combining human forms and the shapes of trees in his drum designs.

The drums in this exhibit include lathe-turned solid hand-drums and a lathe-turned coffee table drum all of which use an innovative steam bent wood ring fastening system.

Robin invites people to contact him at Sylvan Temple Drums in Errington, BC, near Parksville.
