Lacey Rivard was born in Edmonton, Alberta in 1978. She was raised in the central interior region of British Columbia on a vast ranchland. These expansive surroundings of nature and wildlife instilled free thought, creativity, and the beginnings of an unfettered imagination.

Lacey began by drawing, painting, carving, and sculpting in and on many different mediums. Dreams of power tools and exotic woods began to take centre stage in her last years of high school. At the age of nineteen she apprenticed with Master Luthier Roch Schneider, constructing hand-made custom guitars. During the four and a half years of training she developed an even deeper passion and appreciation for wood. In 2002 Lacey laid claim to her first custom woodworking shop and in early 2003, she began her own business, Ebony and Ivory Woodworks.

Lacey's pieces are all handcrafted originals:

"It's not just woodwork for me... it's a part of my soul. I like to portray my love of life through each piece, and create a thing of beauty for someone else."

She operates Ebony and Ivory Woodworks in Prince George, BC. She can be contacted by email.
