Daniel Lubberts holds a certificate from BCIT in Benchwork and joinery, has several years experience repairing instruments and building acoustic guitars, and is also a qualified cabinetmaker. Altogether he has been interested in fine woodworking for twelve years.

Daniel's interests include traditional building techniques with modern and custom designs. His instruments incorporate exotic and non-traditional woods in the search for different tonal and aesthetic properties.

Daniel's comments on the guitar he submitted: "I wanted the guitar to have defined lines by using the deep the colour of Purpleheart for the back and sides and bind it with a very white maple. The top (also very white) is Engelmann Spruce (grows near the tree line) inlaid with a Paua Abalone. The purfling is a dyed black maple separating the top from the binding. The neck is also maple finished off with an ebony fingerboard and peg-head."

Daniel works full time as a cabinet maker specializing in kitchen and bath. He owns a studio and can be reached at: (250) 727-1527.
