Werner Krahn has been interested in carpentry since childhood and has been doing cabinetry for the last forty years. He completed his BA in Math and Philosophy from the University of Manitoba in 1968, then returned to woodwork.

Werner's current aesthetic interests include the styles of Art Deco and Arts and Crafts, Japanese joinery, and the works of Umberto Eco and Renee Macintosh.
